Change in Fall Conference Program

Due to illness, one of our scheduled speakers, Rose Mary Graveline, is unable to participate in our fall conference. We were all eager to hear her speak on the “Buffalo Soldiers”, stationed in the Burlington area a century ago. We wish her a rapid recovery and will try to get her for a future program.

Replacing Rose Mary will be Bill Budde, our current Newsletter editor, who will bring us up to date on the effects of the recent economic downturn on research facilities and resources. His information will be of interest to all active genealogical researchers; be sure not to miss out on this and our other speakers on the 17th of October at Lyndon State College. See details on the conference by clicking on the “Upcoming Events” tab at the left.

Newsletter Editor

We are still advertising for a Newsletter Editor. Bill Budde has recently issued the August Newsletter, and may be amenable to doing one more issue. However, we definitely will be needing a replacement for him soon. Let us know as soon as possible if this is something YOU (singular OR plural) would be interested in. See my 27 Jul 2009 notes (link below) for details.

Suggestions for Improvement?

We are always interested in hearing from members of ways to improve our website, publications, conferences, or simply the way we do business. Your suggestions are always interesting to us and provide the Board with ideas that we could not always generate on our own. Please let us know how we are doing and what we could do to enhance your membership in GSV.
